Singing Waters, Dancing Flames contains original and
traditional songs,
games,
and stories for the elementary music classroom that are
thematically linked to the four elements- Earth, Air, Fire, and
Water. Each lesson features an Orff-inspired
arrangement that uses singing, barred percussion, and hand
percussion including shakers, hand drums and ocean drums to dramatize a natural phenomenon
from the movement of the planets to the germination of seeds.
Many
of these lessons also use props such as
scarves, ribbon wands, parachutes, and stretchy bands to inspire movement.Each
lesson also comes with a list of
children's picture books that focus on the same subject and can
be used to create additional thematic activities. Singing
