Conversational Solfege, Level 1 - Flashcards
Conversational Solfege is a first-through-eighth grade
general music program that is designed to allow students to become
thinkers with the help of a rich variety of folk and classical music. The levels of Conversational Solfege do not correspond to particular grade levels. Instead, each book
varied song material so that the teacher can select appropriate music for the
grades or older beginners.
With the Conversational Solfege approach, music literacy starts with
literature and an “ear-before-eye” philosophy. Great songs are broken down
into their component parts and then
reassembled so that students can achieve a more in-depth understanding of the
music that they are exposed to. The ultimate goal is to create fully engaged,
independent musicians who can
hear, understand, read, write, compose, and improvise.
This collection of 80 flashcards provides rhythmic and melodic examples for students to read and decode.
