The YRS 402B is made of “ECODEAR® ”, a material consisting of 30% plant-based resin, and 70% ABS plastic, the usual material for plastic recorders. Its body design is based on Yamaha's popular 300 series recorders, but the denser characteristic of ECODEAR® gives these recorders higher resistance and a richer tone, more similar to that of a wooden recorder.
The ECODEAR® recorders have been discontinued by Yamaha and replaced with new generation TERRAMAC® bio-plastic recorders. We have a few of the ECODEAR® soprano recorders left, but no more alto recorders remain.
The YRS 402B comes with a fingering chart, a cleaning rod, and recorder cream. The cotton case is spring green with a zipper closure.
