Purposeful Pathways: Book 2
Roger Sams and BethAnn Hepburn
This collection of developmentally sequenced curricular materials is the second
in a series developed
by Roger Sams and BethAnn Hepburn based on elements from the Orff
Kodály and Dalcroze Eurhythmics methodologies. Each of the 36 lessons
found in the book contains four to eight
that focus on different learning activities related to a particular concept or song,
such as literacy, ensemble skills, movement, improvisation and composition.
This structure allows teachers to individualize each lesson to best serve the
their classroom. Book 2 covers do pentatonic and introduce la pentatonic, as
well as new rhythmic concepts with whole notes, sixteenth notes and
syncopation. This book comes with a CD-ROM disk that contains PDF
files of hands-on manipulatives that are integrated into the lessons. The companion
